My Story

🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏻‍♂️Running the Length of England August 2026 | Climbing Kilimanjaro 2027🗻🗻

In 2027, me and my brother will be taking on Kilimanjaro - the largest freestanding mountain in the world. But before that, we plan to do something even more crazy!

🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏻‍♂️This August, my brother and I are running the length of England 🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏻‍♂️

In some of the most water-scarce regions, children have to walk an average of 6 km everyday for access to water. A child can typically carry around 10 litres per trip. To have access to the minimum quantity of water that the World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends for drinking, cooking and safe sanitation (70L), a child would have to walk 42km everyday. So we wanted to put ourselves in their shoes and run for our water!

My brother and I will each run 40 km a day (80km in total) for 15 consecutive days, as we run from Berwick-upon-Tweed all the way to the southernmost part of England. We chose the length of England because it helps put into perspective the cumulative distance that children would need to walk just to access water for basic needs that we take for granted.

Dig Deep is a charity that works to reduce this distance by planning and delivering water projects that provide better quality and much more readily available water sources to over 1 million people that live in Bomet county, Kenya. Here, 2 out of 3 people don't have clean water, over half don't have safe toilets and children don't have access to basic hygiene education.

Through helping children and their families to realise their right to clean water, safe toilets and good hygiene, your support will save lives, improve education, empower women and girls and strengthen livelihoods.
