My Story
Hi my name is Owen, I'm a 22 year old lad from Blackpool and currently preparing myself for a once in a life time opportunity and journey, conquering Mount Kilimanjaro. Mount Kilimanjaro is one of the most impressive sights in Africa and climbing it is one of the all-time great achievements. It’s the largest freestanding mountain in the world and the trek encompasses terrains from jungle to glacier. Reaching the summit and watching the sun rise over the vast African plains truly is the experience of a lifetime.
Dig Deep works to help schools and communities get access to water and sanitation. They work together to build taps and toilets; to ensure that water and sanitation services are maintained for the long term; and to provide vital hygiene training to the next generation.
As a young boy, I would go on many walks with my Granddad, making this challenge not only about the great cause but for close personal reasons too. I want to help those who are less fortunate than myself, as a young man that has grown up with opportunities always around me I feel that a lot of day-to-day things are taken for granted. Completing this challenge and raising the money will not only allow me to grow as a person but also allow me to see where the money is going, the other side of life we don't always see and help the less fortunate have the things they deserve.
Nothing can come close to describe how much it means to me to have you donate and support me through this, in more ways than one, life changing journey. Not only are you supporting me but you are also giving something to those who really need it. Everyone deserves clean water, proper sanitation and knowledge. Thank you.
