My Story
I would love to invite you to join me in taking on the real Kilimanjaro Challenge in 2022. It could be the year to do something completely different, inspiring, demanding and potentially life-changing! I decided to take on the challenge to have impact, open fundraiser for a great cause and personally push myself to my limits by hiking the world’s tallest freestanding mountain
I am doing so to support Dig Deep who believe that every resident in Kenya has a fundamental right to the provision of clean water, safe toilets and good hygiene.
Where Dig Deep work, 8 out of every 10 people lack access to clean water, safe toilets and good hygiene. Most residents live in rural communities and spend hours every day walking to collect dirty water or find a safe place to relieve themselves.Diseases from dirty water kill more people every year than war, and children under five years old are the worst affected. The time lost to sickness means that every year 443 million school days are missed and £200 billion is wiped from the global economy
Dig Deep's purpose is to collaborate with the Kenyan government, local businesses and communities, to transform the provision of clean water, sanitation and good hygiene in Bomet County - one of the most challenging and least resourced areas in the country.
My total fundraising target is set at £2,700, with half going towards a charitable donation in Kenya and the other half with on ground activity with local Tanzanian communities incl. porters, chefs and guides and their families that support the Kilimanjro challenge (anything on top will support the cause even more!)
What can you do? Your donation will help to ensure every household, school, hospital has taps that always supply enough clean water, as well as safe toilets that provide privacy and dignity to everyone.Every small act has a big impact. Each one of us can make a positive difference around us.That is incredibly powerful.
Thank you,
Michelle von Nathusius
