Laurenamy Wheeler
My Story
I'm Laurenamy I'm 25, currently in my second year of my dual field degree in adult and child nursing. People who know me will know just how much of a challenge this is going to be for me I've spent the last 18 years in and out of hospital for surgery on my knees and hips!.
I'm so so happy to be taking on this challenge and challenging myself. Pushing myself and experiencing something phenomenal.I am taking on the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak and the world's highest freestanding mountain standing at 5985m above sea level. I am doing so to support Dig Deep who believe that every resident in Kenya has a fundamental right to the provision of clean water, safe toilets and good hygiene.
Where Dig Deep work, 8 out of every 10 people lack access to clean water, safe toilets and good hygiene. Most residents live in rural communities and spend hours every day walking to collect dirty water or find a safe place to relieve themselves.
Dirty water and poor hygiene spread diseases meaning even more time is lost to sickness that could have been used to learn and earn.

My overall fundraising target is £2950
50% of which goes directly to accelerating access to water, sanitation and good hygiene in Bomet County, Kenya
50% of which goes towards my expedition costs (not including flights, I am paying for these myself)
Any support to help me reach my target is greatly appreciated, thank you!
