Jemima Treasure-Evans
My Story
Hi everyone!!
My name is Jemima Treasure-Evans and I am taking on the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak and the world's highest freestanding mountain! I am doing so to support Dig Deep who believe every resident in Kenya has a fundamental right to access clean water, safe toilets and good hygiene.
Dig Deep work in Bomet County, Kenya, home to 1 million people and one of the most underserved and least resourced areas of the country. Here, 2 out of 3 people don't have clean water, over half don't have safe toilets and children don't have access to basic hygiene education.
Through helping children and their families to realise their right to clean water, safe toilets and good hygiene, your support will save lives. Waterborne disease is one of the main killers of children under 5. Just £15 a month can provide a child with the clean water that we take for granted but can be the difference between life and death.
Often the difficulties fall disproportionately on women who spend hours collecting water. A water source nearby could free up their time for education, impacting the rest of their lives. By improving menstrual health education women and girls can feel empowered, confident and comfortable during their menstrual cycles.

My overall fundraising target is £2990
50% of which supports transforming access to water, sanitation and good hygiene in Bomet County, Kenya
50% of which goes towards my expedition costs (not including flights, I am paying for these myself).
Any support to help me reach my target is greatly appreciated, thank you!
