Hi! I'm Euan, a Geology student at the University of Birmingham. I have been made aware that in Kenya, 8 out of 10 people lack access to clean water and sanitation. I would love to help reduce this figure and can do this by supporting the charity, Dig Deep.
Dig Deep works to help schools and communities get access to water and sanitation and to provide vital hygiene training to the next generation.
I know I can put my full support behind Dig Deep because they have already made a huge difference to the lives of many people and communities in Kenya.
Since they were founded 10 years ago, Dig Deep has built taps and toilets that are serving over 27,000 people at any one time and rolled out training directly to over 26,000 people.
In the next 5 years, they expect that these taps and toilets will provide clean water and improved sanitation for more than 46,000 people and the training will contribute to improved hygiene for as many as 219,000 people. Their target is to double this reach in the next 3 years.
I am aiming to raise £2500 for Dig Deep by doing my own fundraising in my local area and by taking up the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro between August and September 2021. This will also be a great opportunity for me to meet the people who I hope to help with the money I raise!
I hope that you can support my challenge as by doing that you will be helping many people to gain access to clean water and sanitation.
