My Story

Family, friends and colleagues,

As most of you know, I like to embark on the occasional mad adventure... and in August 2024, I am taking on the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak and the world's tallest freestanding mountain. At 5895m above sea level hosting 5 different climate zones, Kilimanjaro is about 4.5x-5x higher than Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Pen Y Fan summits I've climbed over the last year.

My efforts are to support the charity Dig Deep, who believe everyone in Kenya has a fundamental right to access clean water, safe toilets and good hygiene.

Dig Deep work in Bomet County, Kenya, home to 1 million people and one of the most underserved and least resourced areas of the country. Here, 2 out of 3 people don't have clean water, over half don't have safe toilets and children don't have access to basic hygiene education.

If you want to check out exactly who and what your donation is helping, please check them out at: www.digdeep.org.uk

My fundraising target is £3250 and my goal is to smash that target. 50% of this goes directly to accelerating access to water, sanitation and good hygiene in Bomet County, Kenya, and 50% goes towards my expedition costs (not including flights, gear, or anything similar, I am paying for these myself!).

I've successfully (and painfully) completed the Tough Mudder London West 10 mile challenge in May this year to help raise funds and multiple other hikes in preparation like the Yorkshire 3 Peaks.

Any support is greatly appreciated, but, with a £50 donation, you get to "Link Your Loo" with a certificate! What's that you ask?: https://www.digdeep.org.uk/link-your-loo

Thank you so much.

Dan
